The coordinator of varsity student-athletes at OSU needs two retired math
teachers who can work 25-35 hours a week. These student-athletes generally
need tutoring in pre-algebra and algebra every day between 7:30 am and 3:30
pm. Pay is $12- $14 per hour with no benefits. The location is 350 Younkin
Success Center, 1640 Neil Avenue. For more information (before December 15),
contact Ruth Staveley Bolzenius, PhD., Academic Resources Coordinator,

BolseniusR@buckeyes.ath.ohio-state.edu

I am one of two recruiters for Central
Ohio Transit Authority (COTA)
and currently we are in growth mode. Every 5 weeks we hire anywhere from 6 -
12 new Bus Operators. There is an 8-week paid training that they must go
through if the position is offered, but we host informational sessions a few
times a month to discuss the entire
process (Commercial
Driver License, pay rate, schedule (very strict), benefits, etc.) If
you know of anyone who may be interested in employment with COTA please have
them contact me.

We have
moved from 58 to 80+ schools and need more Instructional Coaches. The focus
of the grant has changed to target specifically classroom instruction,
assisting teachers in their classrooms, planning their lessons, asking
reflective questions, and examining their own practice.
This involves instructional coaching of
teachers in the Columbus City School system for either 15 hours a week if
you work at 1 school or 30 hours per week if you work at 2 schools and
carries no benefits.
The Columbus Coaching Project, with
Instructional Coaches in Columbus' lowest-performing schools, is fully in
place for the next school year (2008-2009). We are taking applications and
answering questions about the coaching initiative, which is assisting and
supporting Columbus teachers, and helping interpret data and planning
classroom strategies for improvement based on data provided by the OAT's,
and quarterly benchmarks. Remember, we are looking predominantly for retired
teachers/educators who will work at least 3 days a week for
$20 to 35 an hour as independent
contractors. We are looking for personable people who have great people
skills as well as the ability to assist teachers specifically in reading and
math literacy.

McGraw-Hill Learning Group in Columbus is
growing its Easton and Polaris facilities. We currently have strong interest
in former teachers who may still be interested in career opportunities with
us. Our facility in Columbus specializes in publishing text books for students
K-12 in the areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, Language, and Reading.
Our working environment is state of the art.
We offer flexible hours with most of our teachers working about 35-37 hours
per week. These are day time positions with excellent compensation and
benefits.
Most positions would have to do with content
management and editing of the books within the specific subject areas. We use
Microsoft software products in these efforts so familiarization with these
systems are helpful.
All interested parties should contact Ernie
Sullivan, Consultant for McGraw-Hill
,
at 614-258-7815 or via email at
